Project Solutions Inc. had the opportunity to participate in the 2020 Women in Science event in Rapid City, SD. The event was held at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology where many members of our staff have graduated from! This event is near and dear to our CEO Sandy Burns who was first inspired to pursue a STEM education at an event like this one. This event is for 7th grade girls who are interested in learning more about STEM careers and education. This year had an impressive variety of fields to represent the local professional women in our area. Project Solutions and Sandy herself had the opportunity to represent chemical engineering. The teams of future scientists and engineers were tasked with building a chemical mixing station with all sorts of piping and fittings while learning how engineers work together from various fields to complete projects and collaborate. According to surveys from students, 82% would, after attending the conference, consider a science related career!
