The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Business Development Program (BDP) is funded through the Federal Highway Administration, and is intended to support DBE program participants. The BDP’s focus is on expanding DBE expertise, broadening DBE business knowledge, strengthening DBE financial literacy, and developing business owners’ skills and abilities in the areas of business and construction management.
PSI provides BDP services free of cost to DBEs registered in North Dakota. The program’s ultimate goal is to improve the overall aptitude and business capacity of DBE firms, and it provides financial and business management training and one-on-one consulting to DBEs in an effort to further develop their businesses. By participating in the program, DBE firms receive:
- A comprehensive business review by a certified small business consultant
- A SWOT analysis for each business
- A customized business plan featuring sales and revenue goals and financial forecasts
The program also provides networking opportunities and is intended to help increase companies’ work potential.
